It's the aesthetic... I like the wire mesh within the glass.

The door clasps finally came in and I've got it all powered up and working. Next step is to relocate all of my hardware into it this weekend, then I can start ripping up the floors/walls/lighting/electrical in the office.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

The red light is a Hue strip, so I can set it to be whatever colour, on whatever timer, or Apple Homekit, I want it to be on. For now it makes a nice nightlight.

The temp controller works like a charm as well.

You didn't hook up a photoelectric color reader so it would match your toilet color?

I'm working on a BTLE (Blue Tooth Low Energy) full mesh monitoring and relaying system to sync up all of my lighting.

It's kind of like a modern day, electronic mood ring for geeks.

Just picked up a "new in open box" Ridgid shop vac for $50. It's the 6 HP job, which is now hooked up to my small cyclone, and holy shit does it do a great job. Tomorrow I'll be fitting my big cyclone to the dust extractor... both of them running on auto-start switches for tool power.

Getting damn happy with the setup, I have to say.

Epoxy painted the floor and walls. Lets hope it stick. It is -5 out so the concrete was cold as fuck, had 2 infrared heaters and an oil heater going for a day and still wasn't warm. I want to get this going or else I would have to wait months for the weather to warm up.

I think you'll be good... just expect a much longer curing time, is all, and don't be fooled by the top surface. It'll probably feel cured much earlier than it really is.

Oh yea. That is just going to be my clean/painting room with my reloading presses and safe. On the right hand side is going to be my main tool storage shelf. My main work bench is going to be something like a paulk work bench II, but with a roller base. I like the idea of the removable top. I will have the main top, and I am thinking of making a separate top and turning it into a downdraft table.

    Nice!

I have a removable top on my bench as well... I just took a big sheet of thick MDF and then built the bench around it.. actually laid the sheet on the floor and built a 2x4 frame exactly to its size. The whole sheet is pressure fit in the top of the frame, and is super easy to either flip over or replace. No cutting required... just pop it out and put in a new one (which I've done once already).

Bottom shelf also has a removable floor to it, but it's cut to size. Figured that wasn't such a big deal because it won't get the use/abuse that the top does, so won't be replaced any where near as often.

It was quite fast to build, between not having to measure stuff, construction adhesive, and a nail gun.

    Well, I'm a bit drunk.

Today was a kind of annoying day at work... client doing some shit that just made life more difficult than it really has to be.

In order to escape from that and relax a bit, I headed out to the shop to work on some final dust extractor plumbing for my big cyclone.

And everything was going great... until my TV fell off the wall. Fucking hell. And it was totally my fault. And I knew that, and hated myself for it.

You see, the ABS pipe I was cutting was the same pipe that my "fancy" TV bracket was hanging on... I just hadn't properly secured it yet, because, you know... "I'll get to it later"... and later never came. So here I was, half-way through the cut, when the TV bracket fell off due to the vibrations and smashed into the corner of my jointer, and... glass everywhere.

With that I called it a night in the shop, came in, and started drinking and watching some Netflix.

I hate when my own laziness comes back to bite me in the ass.

Surely I'm not the only one who has suffered from this?

Anyone have a good recommendation or source for bandsaw blades? I'm looking for some good resaw blades... 115" x 3/4".

I had a "high end" Laguna carbide tip blade included with my bandsaw when I bought it, but it didn't last long.

Trying to get my bench level. The floor is sloped on both planes. Each leg is a different height. You can see on the bottom right to tripod legs from a tripod level kit. Figured out where i wanted the legs to go and walked around with a tape measure to get the heights i needed.

Yeah. Wood Slicer is made by Timber Wolf.

They’re just not cheap to get in Canada.

Trying R&D out of Brampton. Cheap, semi-local, and fairly good reviews.

    We’ll see how it goes.

Have you tried making the legs with adjustable feet like in this video?

That way if you ever move your bench you can re-level it.

Woohoo! Just brought home a new toy... got a killer deal on an open-box return. Went to get some glue, saw this sitting there, asked the manager what they were doing with it, got it for less than half price, taxes in. Even set it all up at the shop to ensure it was all there and working.

I give you, the Incra ME/1000SE Miter Express and Miter1000 Se Combo Pack.

Nice addition to the new table saw.
