Part of me thinks that one of the major talking points for the next election won't really be about how shitty Trump was, but rather on how the GOP didn't do anything about it when given ample chance.

I fully agree. One of the biggest things they are doing right now is sitting idly by while Trump destroys everything. It’s also the glaring hypocrisy of how they treated Hillary(whether you like her as politician or not) and what they constantly dumped on her for. And how the Trump Administration has already done worse than she has and more.

This is like the 8000th time someone has made a comparison to Hillary that has absolutely nothing to do with her.

Would be nice if the president stopped tweeting about her as well.

I don’t see any issue addressing the hypocrisy. I think both parties are guilty of it but I feel the GOP is especially bad with it since Trump.

Sure, feel like it's more or less shitty than whatever Hillary did, but I really don't see how it's related to the foundation or whatever thing she allegedly did.

As far as hypocrisy in criticizing one party for doing something and ignoring the other party for doing the same that's not really news, but yeah, I guess that's true.

I just wonder how oblivious Hillary has to be when she calls Trump a sexual assaulter yet says that all of Mr. Clinton's sexual miscues are in the past. I may be wrong but aren't most of Weinstein's assaults in the past? How do those not correlate to each other?

The guy who "ran" Miss America pageants sexually assaulted people? Say it ain't so...next you'll tell me the dude responsible for "Girls Gone Wild" fucked a bunch of drunk girls that couldn't really consent...

Every time I read the word "Hillary (said/did/tweeted/wrote)" the word "Irrelevant Controversy" flashes in big neon signs over my head. We still talk about John McCain because he has a job. No one is out there beating the bushes to understand why Mitt Romney's ass is still sore, or Al Gore's, or John Kerry's for that matter.

Kaepernick's collusion case is going to focus on Trump's influence over owners.

I mean, I guess I kinda get it, because what Trump said about him was certainly not appropriate. But does it really matter? I just don't think Kaepernick is a good QB.

To me, it's like taking someone to court over them poking you in the chest during an argument. Yeah, it technically could be battery by the letter of the law if it was an unwanted touch, but what the hell does it matter? You're both idiots go away.

I do think the spectacle is hilarious though. Kaep is an idiot who cost himself a job (if he would have had one to begin with) and now he's looking for people to blame. The more attention he gets, the more light is gonna shine on him being a dumbass. It's a sideshow I find morbidly entertaining.

IM curious to the leagues union rules and such. Is it againt union rules to not hire someone who has so much heat on them? If it isn't, it's easy to see why multiple teams came to this conclusion independently. It will be interesting to see how the league defends itself. Will it just stick to his playing ability or try and show the protest have impacted teams bottom lines somehow. Im no expert in football the lone stat I have seen used over and over in articles defending him from his last major season is 16/4 touchdowns to interceptions, which is made out to be the best indicator of a QB?

I don't know how Trump figures into his plan as his influence over NFL owners is what exactly? Being a pompous ass like his is to everyone else?

Perhaps because it's easy to convince a jury to side with the party opposing Trump?

Uhh, I thought it was going to an arbitor, they do juries for those? I get your point on Trump being disliked but holding up some boogey man in lieu of actual evidence doesn't seem like he's got much going for him in the first place.

Frankly, I'm just baffled at what case he even thinks he has. I mean, what the fuck is he even trying to argue? That teams are obligated to hire him? Who would even attempt to make an argument like that?

He's blaming Trump now, as if the NFL owners just do whatever he says. That's so stupid and deluded I don't even know where to begin.

This case was just annoying before, now it's downright hilarious.

They're now claiming Russia is responsible for rising racial tensions, and that they supported BLM, including during the election.

I'm becoming convinced that the goal of Russia isn't really to change the outcome of anything specifically - because they can't - but rather just to convince people they can. Don't like Trump? Russia did it. Don't like BLM? Russia did it.

I really hope we're not going to have a decade of liberals and conservatives pointing at each other and blaming everything on Russia. If you can convince millions of people that Obama isn't an American, that 9/11 was an inside job, and that the real problem in America is all the nazis... well, you can probably convince them of anything.

It looks to me like Russia just took a look at how dysfunctional politics are in this country right now and heaped gasoline on the fire. That's pretty much what they've done in the past.

We'll see what happens with Mueller's investigation. We're going on a year now and still waiting for that smoking gun. Any idea as to when the report is supposed to be finished? I'm guessing they didn't put a time frame on it, but if six months from now we still aren't seeing anything definitive and people are still clamoring for more and more investigation this is going to start looking stupid.

That's exactly their plan. At every point they ask themselves "What is the thing that would cause the most damage to the United States?" and then they exploit existing tensions to maximize that damage. Worst outcome of the presidential election? Trump in the White House. Worst outcome of race relations? Stoking ethno-nationalists and inciting race-based violence. They're not all powerful, but they're putting their finger on the scales wherever they think a small amount of pressure will tip them.

I think people drastically underestimate the effects of a gentle nudge here and there, over the long term, and how much it can sway or form someone's opinion.

Marketing works... even when it's not meant to make you buy a Coke or the latest, greatest gadget that you possibly can't live without.

Not in a million years are you going to convince that having Russia post some facebook shit is a bigger advantage than having the DNC cheat for you, and the vast majority of the media pushing for you to get elected. I don't get how people claim otherwise. The election also wasn't that close. Hillary lost by 70+ electoral points and lost key states by hundreds of thousands of votes. The democrats lost because they nominated a piece of shit. The sooner they admit that to themselves the sooner they'll be able to strategize accordingly in the future.

I also find it odd people are so eager to act like Trump has been a disaster thus far. Most embarrassing president ever, yes. That he is. Compared to the shit Bush did? It's not even close. Of the things that actually matter to me at this point it's a wash between axing the TPP, not stupidly bringing in a bunch of Muslim immigrants, and pulling out of the Paris agreement. The media is trying to make it into doomsday, but it's not. Give him time and maybe, I mean who knows, it is Trump, but it hasn't happened yet.

I'm not saying it was a landslide, but in terms of how the votes are counted, it wasn't particularly close. That was my point. You can win by one vote in California or win every single vote in California. It still counts the same. The blaming Russia narrative is a total smoke screen. People are just too fucking immature to accept they didn't win these days. It's always because something was unfair, never because they just happen to suck that much. If the republicans had lost they would still be talking about how many illegals voted. Hell, they did that even though they won.

The news doesn't give an accurate portrayal? No way.

I find it interesting how few people seem to know that Russia isn't actually doing particularly well.

But isn't that exactly the point? Putin didn't win some great clash with the United States, he merely recognized that if you want to attack America, that American Conservatives themselves are by far the most effective weapon to do so.

    He's using BLM/liberals too.

Not that I think that is particularly impactful either...

He doesn't give a shit which party it is, as long as it stokes the fires.
