I totally get where Tyrion is coming from. From what we've seen of him over the last 7 years, the guy is clever, intelligent (which is different than clever), focused, driven. He really should be the Hand of whoever wins. But clearly he can't be Hand for Cersei, he can't be Hand for John, he's a Lanister. I liken it to what Varys said, he's for whoever will best serve the people, and he's smart enough, seen enough, that Danaerys is clearly the correct choice there. It's a high risk high reward situation for him. He either gets killed by a family legacy enemy, or he ends up with the smartest most temperate people focused ruler available, and essentially runs shit from there on out.

After that episode, I'm assuming that the last scene of the show will be Sam writing the entire history of the saga and calling it "A Song of Ice and Fire" or "Game of Thrones?"

As much as I wish they could produce this like Larry David does with Curb. When they are ready they'd make a season. The yearly machine means dense thought out stories aren't on the table due to expediancy. You won't be seeing any Red Wedding-esque plot points unless Martin has major specific ideas laid out for them. Still Im quite enjoying this season so far. I mean did you all see Missandei's titties for gods sake? Pure poetry.

HBO has already been tossing around scripts for prequel shows. Im assuming they'll the events up to and including Robert's Rebellion. It would be cool if they did a story on the other side of the world from Westeros or something where an entirely different story is taking place.

While they could base it off GRRM stuff already out and the quality would be great in that regard. I feel like it'd be in the line of the new Star Trek series for me. Once we've gotten the conclusion of the ultimate war in this universe, the war with the Others, going back to rehash prewar political intrigue seems meh. Their new series about an alternate timeline of the Civil War just seems can't miss.

Getting kind of fast an loose with the time scales. Euron surprises Yara's fleet, parades back to kings landing, back at Casterly Rock to suprises Daenys fleet.

Queen of Thornes went out like a G.

Kind of funny to watch the Lords of the North look at all of the warring Southerners as idiots because they don't understand where the true threat lies. Then turn it around in this last episode and see Dany and Tyrion treat Jon like a moron for having no interest in taking a power position in the power struggle going on and instead facing the Wall worried about things that don't exist.

    Pretty much.

Jon: hey, we have some real serious shit going down and we can help each other.
    Danni: take a knee!
Jon: yea, ok so there's this army that's basically unstoppable and we will all die.
    Danni: BUT IM IN CHARGE!
Jon: ok sure, but if we all die, it won't matter.
Danni: I'm the rightful heir to the throne.
Jon: ok cool, can I get your volcanic glass so I can make kewl swords?
    Danni: it's all yours stupid

At this point it's as if they've totally disregarded them. Jon showed up at dragon stone immediately as well. So I guess with the unsullied fleet burned the unsullied would be stuck at Casterly Rock. Except they can probably march back to Dragonstone in like 5 minutes. No big deal.

I mean some of marching and traveling in the books gets super tedious. Some of the stuff on the show is just eye popping though. I think Euron might still be at the capital as I think there was a line dropped from Tyrion where they were unsure of all of his fleets location. Dany better get her shit together as far as scouting and spies. She could have roasted the entire Lannister army in one swoop if she knew they were all heading at once to high garden.

I think Sam's curing of Jorah is foreshadowing him being a hero to his family's house. I mean....Jorah can't be killed. He's like Kirk Douglas. And he'll bring good word of Sam.

Olenna was a top-five character for me. Every scene Rigg devoured the scenery. She would outshine any Lannister, any character on the show and leave them gasping for air. And she went out 100% Boss. That. Was. Beautiful.

So yeah, is that fleet using the jet-ferries that take you to Macinac Island? How the fuck did they get around a continent so fast?

Yeah, its a little distracting. GRRM said that Westeros is roughly the size of South America, with the distance from the Wall to Dorne being around 3000 miles, and the Wall to Winterfell is 600 miles. So the distance from Winterfell to Dragonstone is essentially from Kansas City to NYC on horseback and even longer by ship. I'd rather have this wrapping up this way than just a ton of loose ends (ahem, Lost), but its tying together a little too nicely.

Olenna was awesome and what a fitting send off. One of my top 3 favorite characters on the show.

Also - what the fuck with Bran? Did he just get home from liberal arts college and now hes woke?

Has Danerys changed her accent or is it my imagination?

I'm kind of hoping that Olenna is still alive and/or she has something else planned for the Lannisters. It wouldn't take much for her to have convinced that Iron Bank to work against Cersei.

Also, am I the only one that hopes they do a prequel where Sean Bean gets to kick ass and not die for once?

They would cast a younger Ned, though. All he had been doing for the 15 or whatever years since the rebellion is hang out at Winterfell and make babies...not riveting viewing.

Sean can't pull off a 20 something Ned for a whole new series.

Calling it now- Davos is going to convince Jon and Dany to get married for the sake of both their pride and to solidify the alliance, now that they agree on a common end game.

You can see the writing on the wall like obvious, perfectly plot fitting, cave drawings.

Well the slow burn has been worth it, the battle with the dragon was sweeeeeeeeeet. Daeny needs to practice battle field tactics, if her first swoop was parallel to the line, she'd have wiped out a majority of the forces in the beginning. It'd be great to see Jamie back in chains under his own brother. Theyve kind of thrown his redemption arch out the window. For some reason I think he'll wind up escaping down river and going back to kings landing.

Best character on the show that's still alive. And I'm glad he survived that slaughter, he embodies 95% of this show's epic one-liners. I thought for sure Drogon and Dany were going to light him up but he endured as always.

Dany didn't settle for a grandiose Westeros arrival. She started whomping ass the second she arrived, without warning, the fucking Lannister army to boot. And now they are all on fire.

It was also cool to see how deadly Arya actually is on camera. I liked her sparring with Breanne.

I'd rather have Bronn and Davos snark around Westeros than pretty much anything else right now
