Rave: Crazy good weekend. Flew out Friday to Ann Arbor, hung around there for the night, somehow ended up at a bar full of CU fans which was a lot of fun. Saturday at the big house was amazing, then Sunday I drove and saw a great friend of mine and hung around with him and his wife, watched him skate a bit too. It was the kind of weekend that was exahusting but left me feeling great.

RAVE: Had the official kick-off meeting today for the new gig. The scope has now grown significantly, and I'm in the process of hiring a handful of developers to work on the project. Happiness in work is a wonderful thing.

??? I don't know if it's the season changing or what but the crazies are out in force. I just hung up with a client who, while making a payment, asked me if all of our clients due dates are the 20th. Wha? Why yes our entire book of business all pay monthly and every single one of them have a due date of the 20th. Whoa.

Rant: Ditto to the above. Crazy people right and left. I thought things would be calming down...easy breezy...low key. Nope. It's one shitshow after another. I feel like the majority of the day is herding cats. I want a drink.

Rant: I don't think I've ever been this stressed out about money. I hate it. I hate debt, and I hate that my brain can't leave the subject alone for even a minute.

At times like this I totally get the concept of marriage. Two incomes would be worth almost any amount of bullshit I had to put up with.

More job stuff. I'll put my previous rants on the subject in spoilers:

Rave: I'm back working at Publix again--5th store and 3rd stint, after about 5 years total with the company when I was in high school and undergrad. It's not the most glamorous work but it feels good to be back and have an extra source of income. And if things work out I'm all for quitting my dead end day job and going full time there.

Rant: This is now my 3rd week of working a total of 60-70 hours and it is already catching up to me. Add in the physical aspect of the work at Publix and am just feeling tired all the time.

Rave: Last Wednesday I finally got to see TIB's favorite band in concert, and it was glorious. I didn't have high expectations because it was at my least favorite venue ever and it goes without saying that it's not the same without Layne, but holy shit was it a good concert. My only real complaint is that "Rain When I Die" wasn't in the setlist, and should have been in over any of the songs from the DuVall albums.

Rave: I'm headed up to the Boundary Waters on Wednesday, back to the lake we first visited almost 20 years ago and have camped on the most since. The weather forecast looks great. The area was torched in a fire back in 2011 and apparently the moose population is surging because of less visitors and better feeding as the forest grows back, it would be cool to see one (from a distance).

Rant: I started feeling like shit on Sunday night and its only getting worse, this is not a good time to get sick.

Rant: Bullshit. I have to deal with the most ridiculous bullshit. I went into bitch mode today, and the bad part is I don't care if this cunt thinks I'm a bitch. If I make it through this without completely snapping it'll be a miracle.

    Rant: LAID OFF!

My company was bought by a tech investment firm a few months back and the lay offs were coming. I really had hoped they could find a role for me in a different department if need be. Wasn't to be. Im going to do the responsible thing and not get hammered tonight.

Rant: Let's see it' only 2:30pm, so far I've had to deal with an overflowing toilet and spend my lunch hour at the tire shop having a screw removed from my tire.

Rave: After Kublas post I suppose I should be glad I have a lunch hour to take. Sorry dude.

Rant: Boss and 2IC both took the week off and i got dumped with the release of their 2 projects, which both went completely tits up and did not get released. CIO reamed me out something fierce even though there's nothing i could have done to get them released... she just wanted someone to yell at and i was the only target. Fuck i hate this place.

Rave: Not 10 minutes after that call with the CIO I get a job offer with a 40k payrise, working for a company i have been chasing a position at for about a year. Handing my resignation letter in next week is going to be fucking sweet.

Rant: Was informed today that my dad and his wife plan on spending Thanksgiving in Florida with her family. I've always done that day with my family and close friends even after my mother died. This will be the first year since she passed that we will be spread out and also the first major holiday I haven't spent with family.

Rave: Now I can drink beer, fry turkeys, and watch football without worrying about a timetable to have everything ready for the traditional lunch. Sounds like a day drunk and possible fire department call to me...
