"That guy" with the Cardinals is Jordan Walden, who pitched for the Braves last year. His is not nearly as pronounced. Though he does jump forward, he barely loses contact with the mound.

ESPNChicago.com on Thursday tweeted that third baseman Kris Bryant will be called up to the Major Leagues on Friday.

I bet the Orioles utter dismantling of the Sox feels especially good after the walk-off last night.

This pitching staff is scaring the shit out of me. Every starter has had at least one night of getting absolutely wrecked, no starters have an ERA under 4, and our closer situation is an elite old man finally hitting the wall vs. a setup man at best. Not exactly ideal.

The Angels just pretty much gave Josh Hamilton back to the Rangers:

After two troublesome years with the Los Angeles Angels and less than halfway through a five-year, $125 million contract, Hamilton was traded to American League West rival Texas on Monday for a player to be named or cash.

The Angels are expected to pay most of the remaining $80.2 million Hamilton is owed.

A number I've heard bandied about is the Angels are going to eat at least $65M of his contract. Wow.

This sends a strong message to the rioting public:

Particpate in wanton destruction and your baseball priviliges will be revoked. Now go to your room young man, and think about why you're being punished.

Bryce Harper has just homered in his first 3 AB's against Miami.

One other fun little fact, guess who hasn't been seeing pitches to hit? Harper is leading MLB with 26 walks.

Do you want to know why? Because, he's on my fantasy team. And, I have started him every single game they've played. But, this morning, I decided to let him ride pine today until he got right again. Fuuuuuuuuuuu

He's been right all season, he just has no protection behind him so he hasn't really seen many pitches to hit. Zimmerman and Werth aren't striking fear in anyone, so Harper gets pitched around. Coming into this game he had 26 BB's in 28 games, he had 38 in 100 games last year.

Harper still hasn't let up, this may actually be the year he puts it all together. He just hit his 16th (Nelson Cruz seems to homer every time Harper ties him for the ML lead,,,,Cruz hit his 17th just about the same time.)

I saw he was ejected the other day and figured he was mouthing off again. Then I saw the video. That was bullshit. The ump missed a call, Harper did say something and stepped back in the box...no harm, no foul....that's normal. Then the ump and the Washington bench got into it, so Harper stepped out of the box, like he should. The ump yelled at him to get back in the box and as soon as Harper went to step back in, the ump ran him. Absolute bullshit call.

Going to the Twins/BoSox game at Target Field today. Hope it doesn't rain too much. Bringing my step son. My buddy works in the Twins front office, so we should have some excellent free seats.

So despite looking like the worst Twins team in my lifetime at the beginning of the year, it's now the end of April and somehow the team is tied for 1st place in the division. We'll see how long they can keep this up.

How the fuck long are the M's going to keep trotting Rodney out there? Take away his loses and blown saves from their record and they're 29-23. Not that he's the only problem, but I cringe if they go into the 9th with a 3 run lead because I know the lead's not safe.

If your closer has a 6.85 ERA and has allowed 40 base runners in 22 innings entering June, you've got a major fucking problem.

The Oakland A's had 10 blown saves in the first 37 games. Hell I was happy if we got to the closer for him to blow the save as at least we did not give up 4 or more runs in the 7th or 8th as is the normal. The A's are playing a little bit better now, but it is a long ways back to even a 500 ball club at the moment.

M's just picked up Mark Trumbo.

Possible 30+ HR's IF he's healthy. Sub .300 OBP no matter what.

I guess when you're using Logan Morrison as your lead off hitter, this makes perfect sense.

    0-0. Top of the 9th.

    "Let's bring in Rodney"

Oh my. The first batter hit a home run. Who could've seen that coming?

    *Raises hand*

    Fuck me.

    EDIT: Bottom of the 9th

Austin Jackson hits a triple to lead off the inning. 3 outs later, he's still standing on third.

Of fucking course. Hitting a Goddamn fly ball is hard.

M's lose 1-0. Rodney is now 2-3 6.94 and getting paid $7 million a year to suck. I'm pretty sure I could come somewhere close to his numbers at 52 years old for a fraction of that price.

I can throw pretty decently with my off (left) hand. I cannot fathom how much work it would take to even get my throws with my left hand equal to my right, let alone both good enough to play professionally. I would wager pretty high on a once in a generation talent.
