I'm going to Germany and was wondering if I need any special certification to drive there. Last minute since I'm going next week, I know, but if anyone can help me out ASAP I'd really appreciate it.

I think my xbox 360 is broken. I was playing a game the other day and I noticed some weird degradation of graphics a few minutes in. So I saved the game and quit, then restarted my xbox, but it isn't displaying anything (I was using an HDMI cable). I played around with other inputs, like the composite and rgb inputs that came with it and nothing works. I know it's on because I can still turn it off with the controller, but it's isn't displaying anything. Anybody have any idea what happened?

This one goes out to those in the legal professions. The guy who used to live in my apartment died a few years ago and we still get his mail. Today there were some clearinghouse vouchers. If I just use his name on a money order, what am I putting myself at risk for? It seems like this would be easy to get away with but I'd like to go in with eyes open.

I could use a little help from tax experts on here. I work at home. I used to be a consultant for a small design firm and set up my own company to handle taxes and deductions, etc., even though I pretty much worked for one company. Well, when the economy took a shit, I became a W2 employee of this small firm in case things got bad and I needed to collect unemployment, etc.

Well, all the deductions that I used to do as a business owner are no longer helpful as I made no money through my business. 100% of my income was W2 last year.

I do work 100% from home. I live in NC and my boss is based in Virginia. So I'm assuming that I can deduct my home office. I also travel up there to work once every 3-4 weeks. Can I deduct my travel expenses, ie. milage? What else can I deduct? My wife and I file jointly. Can we take the standard deductions and me also take all these business deductions or will we need to deduct everything?

Do any of you know some good online resources to help me sort out what I can and can't deduct as a W2 employee of another company while working purely from home? The last few years I've paid a guy a decent sum to handle my taxes, my wifes and my business taxes. I don't think he's helped me too much and I want to learn as much as I can so I can either do my taxes myself or at least go find somebody who will help me but be armed with everything I need.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I lost control while driving last night because of ice and snow and ended up in a ditch. Two other cars followed me into said ditch. There was no damage, no injury, and nobody was cited.

I need to find out the name of the girl who was driving one of the cars for umm...personal reasons. She was by herself and really scared and I helped her and want to make sure everything was okay. I left before finding out. I doubt if I called the sheriff's office who responded I'd get anything. Any ideas?

Do you want the name of a good defense attorney too? One that specializes in rape, as well as stalking? Or just the ladder?

Is there an easy way to button the cuffs on a dress shirt? These things are god damned satan spawns. I loathe getting my shirts dry cleaned because of this. I miss my t-shirt job.

I want to get my bartending license. Are all bartending schools pretty much the same? Do they transfer from state to state? Does anyone know of any good ones in NJ? I know there are a couple bartenders on here so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does anybody have a clue where I might be able to purchase some neatsfoot oil? I've tried at various leather / shoe / cobbler places, and all I get is a funny look and a "what's that?"

Failing this, any other suggestions for oils useful for softening/conditioning/waterproofing leather. I'm thinking mink oil might be an alternative.

I use mink oil for that, and it's awesome. Expect some discolouration, but I've never found it an issue.

How does mink oil affect the flame resistance of boots? I've got a pair that are a bit too small for me, but if I'm going to be hauling shit over mountains and around fires then I need to figure out how to balance comfort and heat resistance. It says to condition with boot oil when the leather needs it, but isn't terribly specific. If it says just "boot oil" should that be taken to mean any boot oil would work?

My friends and I want to go on vacation down south and we have literally a week and a half to plan it. Dominican, Mayan Riveria/Cancun or Cuba? They want to get laid, I want to relax. Should we go to an adults only resort to avoid smelly kids? or the 14+ ones? Any and all advice is highly accepted.

    For People That Ski

I'm going to Okemo this weekend in VT and there's no way I'm paying $80 for a lift ticket to ski east coast, since I just spent a week skiing out in Utah for far less per day. I'm thinking of hiking up half the mountain to where the lifts are that take you all the way to the top, because usually they don't check lift passes unless you're at the bottom lifts. Has anyone tried this at Okemo? Do they check lift tickets everywhere?

Things are going swimmingly with the new puppy for the most part, but we're having some issues with crate training/separation anxiety. He's an 8 month black lab that we've had in our apartment for 6 days. We're giving him two hour-long walks for exercise, one in the morning and one in the evening) plus two pee breaks, one in the morning, and one when I get home from work.

We know most of the standard tools (feed him in his crate, don't use it to discipline) but the barking during the afternoon is starting to bother our neighbors. If anyone has some more specific ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

    Re: For People That Ski

That'll probably last as long as it will take for ski patrol or one of the lift operators to see you don't have a ticket and approach you. Then they'll escort you off the mountain. Worst case scenario they get the police involved if there are any present and you pissed them off enough to warrant that.

Bottom line: if you don't have the money to go, then don't go. If you do, then suck it up like the rest of us and pony up the money. Sneaking onto the mountain is a pretty terrible idea.

Does anyone know any good online resources for Defense and Aerospace news/trends, with a focus on a financial perspective/implications?

    Thanks.

I'm looking for a house plant. Specifically, I want one whose branches could support a cat, if he or she chose to climb it and hang out there. Actually, this is pretty much the only reason I want the plant. Also, the less attention it needs from me, the better.

Id be careful with that, because cats love to eat plants and then have liquidy vomit and diarrhea. Anything that has softer leaves or branches are a prime target. I hope you don't have carpet.
