Has there been a better scene than Peter Dinklage and Lena Hedley talking about Joffrey? This season? This series?

Ever? Man, Dinklage is awesome, but I've always liked Hedley, and boy oh boy, did she fucking bring it with that scene. Unbelievable.

I'm hoping those charred corpses were the two orphan boys they mentioned the past two episodes.

Fucking eh this show is a mess.

Did it seem to anyone else that Cersai and the Imp were plotting against Geoffrey? Or just complaining?

Im still not convinced of the actress playing Cersi but the scene was killer. The only thing I think she does really well, outside of just looking the bitch part, is her underlying devotion to her children. I think it is more a testament to the way her character is being written. The scene was great because her character had to face the fact that the only thing, ONLY thing, she loves in the world might be a utterly terrible human being. Is it somehow her fault Joffery is a psycho? Very good stuff.

Fuck if they didn't leave this one with two cliffhangers. Don't see that much. I have trouble believing Theon would be capable of actually catching the kids and killing then, right now I think he just burnt up two orphans or some of the kids from that farm as a shitty ploy to fool the grand measter into bending to his will.

Man I was kind of hoping John and the wildling got it on. The sexual tension was great. As slow burn as this show is, that might happen four season from now.

It's been a while since I read it, but were all of these Arya/Tywin interactions in the book? Holy shit those scenes are surpassing Tyrion's for me. Fucking masterful.

BUT (edit as I watch Sunday's episode) when Ygritte finally dropped "you know nothing, Jon Snow" was a real letdown for me. Always heard it with a sexy Russian accent in my head.

Rob Stark is gonna lay it down so hard in that medic chick. She will probably walk funny for the rest of the season.

Can't believe no one has mentioned the convo between The Hound and Sansa. The "You'll be glad for the hateful things I do someday" line might quite possibly be the most badass movie / tv show line ever.

I don't think there was this much Arya/Tywin interaction, but it is something the show is nailing better than the book was. I said this in the book thread, but I think I like TV Arya better than book Arya. Just slightly.

Ygritte's ball busting of Jon Snow was fucking great she starts off, throwing barbs (or spears, *pushes up glasses*) Something like "Did you pull a knife on me in the middle of the night?" And I'm pretty sure the "You know nothing, Jon Snow" was for book/season 3, but I love the character/actress, I'm quite fond of gingers though.

I'm a little disappointed in the lack of Tyrion. I just feel like 50% of book 2 was him, and in the show he's getting 10% so that sucks, but it is entirely understandable.

But given the plot outline of this season, you can probably expect that to increase. Given the events at the end of Clash of Kings, one would imagine the focus will be on King's Landing.

My friend who has read the entire series said for weeks leading up that book 1 was Neds book and book 2 was Tyrions book. As far as pages go in book one I don't think Ned was any more or less than any other character, I guess you could say most of the action in Westeros was somehow focused around him. As far as likability he was up there, more so in the show I think, but from the first book I think Tyrion and Danrys stole the story. I haven't read beyond that. Tyrion and Dany both were big in the first season, Tyrion stealing it based on Dinklage, but their stories were less compelling than the books made them to be. Ned shown in the show more than he did in the book.

I think we could use more Tyrion, just for the fact that we could use a lot more Bronn, my favorite minor character in the show. Behind Roger Sterling on Mad Men, and probably Dinklage, he's the best oneliner dropper on TV. Though I think Tyrion's role has been changing to more serious he seems to drop less zingers because of it. I mean he kills in his heavy stuff too but the guy was a fan favorite for a reason.

Every little reveal the Tywin gives of what he knows/is not buying is magnificent. From not being fooled into thinking she was a boy, to his quips about never meeting a literate stone mason, to burning her on not speaking like a commoner (which she handled brilliantly in turn), all his delivery is fantastic. His mastery of the sentiment of "I like you, but don't ever forget I could ruin you" is just brilliant. If you chose to forget the terrible shit he did to Tyrion and the fact that he is more or less complicit in allowing incest, you'd be inclined to think he was one of the most solid dudes in Westeros.

I love the friendly cat-and-mous between Tywin and Arya. I think Tywin is more on to her ploy that they're telling the viewers, though. He's too serious and smart, even if Arya is as well.

Where dee fuck is Bronn by the way.

Jamie... Jesus, what a fucking sociopath. I thoght he might start getting Stockholm Syndrome or something the way characters change on this show, and just when you think he has hope....yeah, he's still a smug, murdering prick. That whole scene was fantastic with his cousin, still.

Am I totally a fuckhead because I thought as soon as the cousin sat down in the pen next to him "If I were Jamie I'd kill this guy to create a distraction and escape." ?

Jaime is actually one of the best characters in the books, but he doesn't get to do much in the first book. You think he's just a pretty boy that likes boning his sister, but there's actually alot more to him than you think. He's just as quick witted as Tyrion in the books. I'm happy that he's getting more screen time now.

There are only 3 more episodes left, and it seems like they have alot of ground to cover.

As for Tyrion not getting as much screen time as he does in the book, the overwhelming majority of Tyrion's material in the book was him and Shae having sex. Tyron is obsessed with her, and he goes to great lengths to keep her concealed. I can't say much more about it because it involves major plot spoilers. I will say that you should remember that Tyrion was married to a woman who turned out to be a whore, and it's a continual battle for him to know whether Shae actually loves him or is just being a whore.

I really liked the interactions between Arya and Tywin in this episode. All their scenes are tense because I don't know how much he actually knows or what his game is. The interactions between Jon Snow and the Wildling ginger were booooooring. Her sexual comments were amusing at first with the knife in her back comment but then it just dragged on as pointless.

All in all, I thought this episode was a little below average. There was a sort of lull in the action and plot developments. Even Jaime's murder of that boy was just pointless. Ok, so he killed the kid. Then he was immediately caught when he tried to make his escape. I think the next episode is going to be really super action packed. We'll see what happens to Jaime for being a murderous dickface, we'll see what happens with Jon Snow now that the Wildlings have surrounded him, and maybe Cersei and Tyrion will do something or make some plans to deal with her shithead son Joffrey.

Don't forget Daenerys heading to the House of the Undying as well. Surely there's more bloodshed to come there

Last nights episode was maybe the worst of the entire series,

They took too much damn time with Robb Stark and the nurse. Yes, he's attracted to her, and yes she's attracted to him too. It took way too long to get through her sob story and then to the very awkwardly blocked sex.

Why did they even put Dany in this episode? It was a waste of time that could have been spent with Jon Snow or Tyrion. I want my dragons, take me to the house of the undying. No, khaleesi, it's dangerous. They're my children, and I must go. Ok, we will go.

The preview for next weeks show had a clip of Tyrion pumping up the troops that gave me chills. I hope that they coughed up the coin for a Blackwater battle that is half as awesome as the book.
