Rave: New internet service. I'm now paying the same monthly price for 6mbps DSL that I was paying for 1mbps wireless. Clearwire can suck my high-speed nuts.

Really big rave: Spending over a week without internet service has really helped me realize just how addicted I've been to the internet for the past near-decade. That addiction is gone, replaced by yardwork, basketball, exercise, and a ton of extra shifts at work.

I'm kinda tan, peeling, and notably cut. I say cut because I only weigh about 125, but between my new diet and the weight bench I'm getting, that number will be going up. I have a better attitude about life, and more confidence.

Rant: Still can't get any if my life depended on it. But hey, I can at least recognize that my life doesn't depend on it.

    Rave:
Vacation next week. Western Carribean Cruise from Sunday to Sunday. Awesome.

    Rant:
People at work are treating this vacation like I'm leaving forever. I'm not kidding when I tell you I had a small line of people outside my office to go over things with me and ask me questions before I'm unreachable. Today is insanely busy.

    Rave:
The above rant makes me feel good. If going away for a week yields this kind of response, they probably want to keep me around for a while. Job security, I has it.

RANT: Did you know that in MS Access, when you hit Ctrl-A+Ctrl-x while editing a field in a form, it selects + Cuts the ENTIRE DATASET, not just the field you were working on? Ohhh fuck me.

Rant I tried rescheduling my May Reserve weekend, but they denied it because we're moving into a new facility next month and need all the assistance they can get to set up shop. So, I'm missing out on a friend's wedding which I was pumped for. Sometimes I wonder why I re-enlisted. Aggravation.

Rave Tax refund came today...not nearly as much as I got last year, but can't complain.

Rave The weather has been nice enough to motivate me to get out and run today. Felt good.

Rant Agreed to go out with my girlfriend's co workers birthday dinner tonight. How old is this girl turning I ask?...17, yep you heard it right. This should be awkward to say the least.

Rave Cue up the drinks...I'm getting drunk.

RANT: Just in case you were wondering, Edit>Undo is grayed out like a Washington summer day. And ctrl-V just says "The text is too long to edit." Thanks paperclip, you're an asshole.
RAVE: Pasted all the data into a .rtf document that I'll be able to parse out. But not now. I need a drink.

Rant: I was supposed to have my first day of work today, but I got a call this morning telling me that, due to a 'disaster,' they'd have to move my first day back to Monday.

Rave: Friday night off, probably for the last time in a while.

    Rant: Saturday sim.

Rant: I don't really know what to do for it, not prepared like I should be right now.

Rave: The civilian instructor is the best that's offered. He teaches you everything you need to know for the sim as long as you have a general baseline of knowledge.

Rant: I don't know where that baseline begins........

Rave: The cunt is gone. She's been cut loose. Emails go directly to trash, blocked on facebook, and the icing on the cake: a fake service provider message saying her number has been blocked (to which she stupidly replied "Thanks").

Rave: Summer starts in exactly 12 days. Roadtrip with the pops to kick it off, then back to work. Not that my summer job is really work.

Rant: 3 Exams until I get that freedom.

RAVE! I had fucking chicken fingers for lunch. Holy shit, I felt like I was 12 years old again. They were covered in Scotch Bonnet and I had fucking potatoe wedges and a coke. They were the best meal I have had in a while!

For dinner? Home made chicken wings fresh from the butcher! And playoff hockey!

My asshole is going to hate me tomorrowwwwww

RAVE: Sold my pickup for good cash. Found out it was a rental, and didn't know it before I bought it... the guy buying it told me, and I verified it. Why is that a rave? Because the DEALER I bought it from didn't disclose that, as shown on my paperwork. The Car Dealership Association would be PISSED at that, so I went and talked to the manager of the dealership, asked "WTF?", and as a result I now have a $6k credit with their parts department. Which is handy, as:

RAVE: Just bought an old '94 Jeep last night, fully done up for bushwhacking. The poor 20 year old fucker selling it was doing so because him and his 20 year old fiance just bought their first condo, and they didn't have a parking space for it. Sure, they have space for her new Charger, and her older Supra, but not his fishing toy. He dumped over $12k into the thing over the last 2 years, and I bought it for $4k. At least he gets the sectional that his fiance wants for their apartment, so there's that... right? Me, being more than twice his age, and divorced, conveyed the Truth unto him: "If you're not happy, nobody gives a shit. If she's not happy, nobody is happy." He didn't get it for a second, but then the spark of understanding gleamed in his eyes, and I drove off.

RAVE: My friend is a Brembo dealer. At the track today I upgraded my brakes on said Jeep for pennies on the dollar, and did an alignment. At the race track. It's fucking handy having a portable rack for the track and 6 mechanics with nothing to do. I may not get paid for the race team gig, but the perks are sure awesomely handy.

RAVE: First race weekend of the year. Pissing down rain, barely above freezing, hail, flash flooding, but it was all good. Didn't go out for any practise or qualifying sessions due to the rain/shit, which was a good thing if the resulting carnage was any indication. 7 cars went off HARD, 5 flat-decks, 1 fork lift removal, and 1 tow. I sat and enjoyed lattes while I watched my crew rip into my Jeep. All the flooding served to clean the track REALLY well, and kept the temps way cold, so when I started from the back of the pack for the race (due to not having participated in qualifying), conditions were ideal. Won the race by about 8 seconds, and set a new record for my class. The glares were awesome; just sitting around all day, doing nothing, going out for one 20 minutes session, and dominating. Then copping the "meh" attitude afterwards. Ha! Fucktards.

RAVE: Oh, decided I couldn't sell my race car after all... it's just too much fucking fun, and is a major contributor to my sanity.

RAVE: Prepping the monster beef tenderloin for the crew at the track tomorrow. And I'm already drunk. Time to go pass out in the hot tub.

RAVE: my parent called me today to remind them that I never wished them happy anniversary. But then I remembered that their anniversary was the day of chernobyl.. Not the anniversary of chernobyl, they were literally giving their vows when the shit hit the fan.

RANT: the opener for Ke$ha sucked balls. some middle aged dude with a mullet who called himself beardo. Sorry, I know we're in bumfuck, PA at the moment, but singing along to tracks you made yesterday in garageband isn't going to cut it. On the other hand, ke-money-ha wasn't as bad as i expected.

RAVE: There was a surprise 30th birthday party for me last night.

RANT: My friends aren't clever enough and I'm stubborn enough that I had to be told to get me out there.

RAVE: I have some amazing friends and family.

RAVE: Working washing machine! The pump was fucked (it's an AEG) but apparently Defy use the SAME pump and charge 50% less for it. Score! This means no more laundry by hand.

    RANT: Old TV's CRT died.

RAVE: Probably getting it fixed though - we have a maintenance contract.

RAVE: New TV in place now though - Sinotec 40 inch HD LCD. It's the only one we could find with a 5 year factory guarantee. I liked the Samsung more, but a 1 year warranty is a fucking joke. Apparently, according to the senior sales dude where we bought the TV from, just about everyone uses Samsung panels...

RANT: No satellite TV yet, but that'll be coming soon...

RAVE: Bulls lost again. So did the Lions. Ahahahah.

Rave: Went out to dinner and a movie with the guy and another couple last night. It's been a while since we've done that and their baby is due in a few weeks so it might be a while before we get another opportunity.

Rant: We saw Scream 4 which was about what I expected, no complaints for the movie itself but I was about to punch some motherfuckers who wouldn't shut the fuck up. First some high school kids sat down behind us and were talking enough that we almost moved before the previews were over. We decided to wait it out since the movie hadn't even started yet. Well, the movie started and they were still talking so we moved up a few rows (which was closer than I care to sit anyway.) We could still hear those bastards in the back as well as some little teeny boppers who probably shouldn't have been seeing that movie anyway that laughed every time someone cursed on screen. I was dangerously close to either leaving the theater or complaining to management. Instead I just sat there fuming, clearing my throat when they got super loud. How hard is it to shut the fuck up for an hour and a half?

Rave: I feel like Nettdata, get off my lawn!

RANT: Oh how I love getting a phone call in the middle of hanging with my friends from a bartender asking me to pick up my friend because he's passed out on the bar and his friends who are visiting from out of town left him there sleeping. This is exactly why I kiss him goodbye on Thursday when they arrive and don't call or text until they're gone. Shit like this always happens when they're here. Last time they left one of my girlfriends sitting alone in the waiting room of the hospital with a broken, bleeding toe. Stupid girl broke it before last call so they couldn't stay with her. Awful people.

RAVE: I'm going to pump him full of midol (yes, midol) and vitamin water, make him some toast, and take the dog to my former students' baseball game today. Beautiful fresh air, my kiddos, and tossing the ball around with the pup is the perfect cure for my angry mood. It's an absolutely glorious day...it can't be wasted on stupidity and siliness.

    RANT:
The fuckers are in town until tomorrow. Seriously, who leaves their friend passed out on a bar? No honor amongst thieves indeed.
