Just got confirmation that my paperwork is all set to be sworn into the NY Bar this June! Finally. What an enormous pain in the ass that process was.
rant: Getting a credit card is impossible. I want to build credit because I have none. But in order to get a credit card, you need good credit. Without a card, I can't get good credit. I've applied for half a dozen credit cars, and just because I'm 20, I get rejected. I'll give it to the credit card companies that most of us kids are stupid and will try to live beyone their means, but give me a break, I'm (sort of) responsible.
Rave: Gettin' ready for a week long trip to the Oregon Coast Sand Dunes. Bikes, quads, homebrew beer & sandwiches. Shitchyeah, motherfrickers. Rave: I'm a fuckin' champion at Words with Friends (scrabble game for iphone/android), and have yet to lose. I could be playing against 6th graders, but so what. It's the little things.
Rave: Girl and I have a shitload in common despite the age difference. Glad I decided to go for it. Rant: Not sure if we have a lot in common because she's mature or I'm immature but I don't think it matters. Rave: Chem Lab canceled due to some hazmat shit. Apparently they found some volatile stuff that has been in storage since the 60's and is highly explosive. Called in Homeland Security and everything. Rave: Life is just swell right now.
My heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, etc are 40 years old today. I wouldn't own a car this old, yet I am dependent on these things that I have abused the hell out of for the past 20 years for everything I have and everything I am.
This is way beyond rant. I've posted a few times recently about my dog. She died yesterday. In front of me at home. My vet is closed mid-day for a few hours for surgeries and lunch so I couldn't even have gone in until afternoon around 3. She got really bad in the morning and I made the decision to put her to rest. I didn't get that far. I work at home so I was able to spend alot of time with her. I spent a couple nights sleeping and working downstairs so I could help her in any way possible. Two days prior we were at the vet trying to figure out a way to help her. We were all still confident that she'd pull through. All tests and signs pointed to a bowel disease. We didnt' do the expensive ultrasounds or invasive tests as we just couldnt' afford it and all they'd show is the big big stuff we couldn't do anything about anyways. Now, with how aggressive and quick it was and how she responded to none of the various treatments, it's believed she had some sort of cancer. I had just been on the floor hugging her and talking to her when I knew she was really struggling. I got up and just sat back down to my computer and she slumped over and it was over. I closed my computer. Sat down on the floor. Hugged her for a little while. Waited until I knew my vet's office was open again, wrapped her up in a good blanket and took her in. My wife told me later that she had a nice long talk with the dog before she left for work that morning and was glad she did. Made her feel a lot better. I'm very glad my wife wasn't home for the difficult end, but the little girl is no longer suffering. After I dropped her off, I went to a local bar and had a very good beer. Just one, although I could have had 10 more as I then went and picked up my baby daughter from daycare, took her to the park for a walk and to see the turtles. My wife met me there and we just enjoyed being outside on a beautiful day, trying to make the best of a bad situation. Today has been difficult as I work at home and it has been very quiet. I miss my little friend who would sit on the floor in my office most of every day while I worked. I'm going to very much miss my lunch-time walks to clear the days stress and it always made her happy. Thanks, everybody, for all the great rep comments when I posted about her the other day. It was really appreciated.
I know this is a no response thread and right now I don't really care. I am so sorry for your loss. I read that through blurry teary eyes. I think it was best she was at home and with her human when she finally went to sleep for the last time. So often we take them for granted to be there when we get home from work with their tails wagging and a doggie smile saying "HI MOM!! HI HI HI!!! I MISSED YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!" Having had to put a young dog down I know how hard it is to understand the whys of it all. Try not to think about that. Also try not to think about getting or not getting another until your emotions have settled a bit. When I put her down I said never again. Less than two weeks later I had my now 130lb shepherd at about 8 mos old. It is well known we are a board of dog lovers. Everyone send him, his family and her good thoughts for she is having a ball upstairs pain free. Also, everyone go home tonight and give 'em hugs, extra scratches and a treat. Dogs really do rule. And just so I post something on topic.... Rant: Selfish self centered people that turn fucking everything into something about them. Get the fuck over yourself and think of someone else for once. Rant: The weather blows today further promoting my already pleasant disposition.

RAVE While this place may be full of low brow humor, ridiculousness and maybe even a little insanity, it is also filled with a high level of intelligent, thoughtful and good hearted people. I'm glad I'm here. Having a place to share the good and the bad and the in-between is a great thing. Thank you all for your putting up with my recent rants and all your kind words and support. It's amazing how therapeutic it is to write it out and read stories and support from so many people. Thank you.

The only reason I keep bringing this up is that I'm friends with people that live in Durham as well has some members of the police department. This case was huge and fucked them up royally. Racial tensions have always been bad in Durham. This only escalated them, and it was all predicated on some bullshit lie. Rant Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will never apologize for their roles in the debacle.
Rave got 2 steel dive tanks for 150 bucks, I will be able to stay underwater for 60 minutes on one tank. Rant dive shop charges 50 bucks to do a hydrostatic test and it takes 2 week Rave welding shop charges 12 bucks and it takes 1-2 hours
Rave: A couple of fellow marketing students started up their own marketing firm and started running some weekly specials on fellow student entrepreneurs on their website. I was asked if I wanted to participate and a couple days ago they took some photos in my shop and I wrote up some answers to their questions. It just went online and I couldn't be happier. I need a beer on the back porch to cool down. Holy shit this is awesome. Rant: Homework. Of course, it's on my business plan.
Rave: There is an Asian person waiting at the bus stop out front wearing a beanie. I don't know why but I'm amused. Also, TLC now has a show called Extreme Couponing. Again, I'm not sure why but I am oddly intrigued.
Visitors to the old board may recall a post in this very thread where I lamented the fact that I fucked a pudgy girl until she bled all over my sheets. She then, fittingly, went and got a cupcake tattoo on her upper left tit. Rave: She just added me on Facebook and she is now SMOKING hot. Like, my mouth dropped open and I may have drooled a little. I don't know what happened, but she is gorgeous. Incredible legs, perfect stomach, great tits.....just wow. Rant: She's in the Air Force and married with a kid. Kill me.
