Some pictures of my pack eating at some raw deer rib cages, and legs that my neighbor dumped out in the woods after butchering. Spoilers for possible Not Safe For Work-ness.
My mom got a new puppy. Unfortunately for her, she forgot that puppies like to chew everything and can't hold their bladders too well. Good thing she's so stinkin' cute! TiB, meet Lady, a 2 month old beagle mix:
My sisters' pups met for the first time over the Thanksgiving holiday and instantly became inseparable. It was fun to watch. Spoiler Nova Mila Both were too intimidated by Buck to play with him. He didn't mind. Spoiler
This is my new neighbor, an eight week old labradoodle. His name is Fillmore. He was a surprise Christmas gift for the neighbor girl although she'd been really serious on getting a dog for awhile so it was a good surprise. Spoiler Needless to say he's an adorable little fuzzball and thankfully his introduction to Buck went really well too, so I am all for this new neighbor! Also, my brother brought his redbone coonhound Millie to our parents place for Christmas so she got to meet Buck and they kept each other company in the garage. She's a great dog. Much more reserved than Buck yet still friendly and well behaved. She's a good fit for my brother and his wife. I like the wishbone pattern on her chest and she has a very pretty, expressive face. Spoiler For example, this is when she ain't taking none of your shit.
I'm finally getting around to posting another picture of our new dog. This one was an attempt to be artistic for instagram. I called it the "greater than" pose. She's a trip, and doesn't have any of the annoying traits that people don't like about small dogs. She charms the socks off everyone she meets.
It has been a while since I posted a puppy and baby pic so here is another one. Just before this was taken she was on the couch leaned over the dogs head hugged her and gave her a kiss then snuggled her.
We got a new puppy a few weeks ago. She's the same breed mix as our other dog, lab/husky, but has more of a lab look, where our other dog has more husky features. She's also going to be about 20-30 lbs. bigger than our older dog. TiB, meet Lucy!
My wife and daughter finally have their dog, and I finally have a Basset Hound. Everyone wins. This is Lola (I named her after my second favourite song by The Kinks): ..one drawback, this little bugger has an almost unquenchable taste for my Achilles tendons.
I am considering registering Buddy with Pet Partners Inc and volunteering at the local children's hospital this summer. Does anyone have experience with a program like this or with volunteering with their pet?
My neighbors and I just finished up with turning our front yard into a mini dog park by putting a fence around it. Has a pair of gates at the front entrance for unleashing your dog, and a poop bucket around to the side. The dogs love it! Also, the poofball on the right in these pics is my neighbors Labradoodle pup- he is growing so fast!
Because of course the 3 dogs we have are not enough my wife has decided to board an aircraft on Sunday to go pick up our newest pack member somewhere in the heart of Texas, Copper, a ridgeless Rhodesian Ridgeback, they are cheaper to purchase when they do not have a ridge.
So this happened yesterday, I did not think I would be excited as I was, but after 2 months of waiting I was very happy to see her.
El husband let buddy out around 1 this morning. I woke up at 7 and he was no where to be found. We opened the front door and in trotted Buddy. Who's a good boy?! He stayed by the front door waiting to be let in all night while it was windy and wet. We have had very severe storms here over the past week. A back nail is split a little so he may have chased a cat before coming back. There is no telling. El husband feels so bad for forgetting him out there. He should!
So my blonde Great Pyranees mix, Hogan, is about two years old. This is quite literally the loveliest dog you'll ever see - gets along with everyone (kids, other animals, crazy people), calm, walks great on leash, etc. My problem is twofold: - He's so independent he won't recall. It takes a lot to admit that; I pride myself in training. Ultimately, though, I think I obtained this dog too late in its life to inprint on it well enough to reliably recall him at will. - He is 100% an outdoor dog who likes large areas. It's getting to the point where I have to physically bring him in at midnight just to sleep. Is it wrong to try to find a farm to re-home this dog to? I never thought I'd get rid of one of my dogs, but I think he'd be happier if he was outside with a job. But I'd also feel like I abandoned him.
My neighbor with the spaniel just got a lab puppy. I've always wondered what my dog was like as a pup and I think she's pretty close. Here's Margeaux! Spoiler: More puppy
