The mantra that we heard growing up (those of us in very right-wing conservative areas) is that the socialist left is going to take power and cancel elections, use martial law and emergency powers to strip our freedoms from us, take our guns, and send us to camps. And now it’s apparent to me that the actions weren’t what they were afraid of, it was the thought that somebody else was gonna be in charge of it.
It always was just bat-signal levels of projection on their part. All of this shit is okay with republicans so long as they are the ones doing it.
I can't thinking that things are going to get progressively worse. The constant quasi legal attacks on anyone who doesn't kowtow to ginger nutz, pardons for anyone who supports him, military invasion and threats of takeover of sovereign countries just spell disaster. It’ll be interesting if Trump actually targets real cartels. They aren’t likely to just sit there and wait to be taken out, I would expect them to use their incredible wealth to be a bit proactive in their response.
I feel like the cartels would just…move operations? I don’t know how cartels work, but I don’t see them being much into actually fighting the US military.
