Conservatives managed to make it a whole two weeks pushing that "left-wing terrorism" talking point before racking up back-to-back right-wing mass killings. That might be a new record.

Republicans control every level of government, and yet are trying to blame the Dems for an upcoming government shutdown.

How the fuck is that supposed to work?

Well you see, after the public was informed of Richard Nixon's misdeeds, they demanded his resignation. To the point where other elected Republicans couldn't ignore it, and forced Nixon out. The lesson the Republican party took from this incident was not "don't nominate crooks" but rather "what if we spent decades building a vast propaganda network that could guarantee the public will never be capable of holding another Republican accountable again?"

Avoiding a government shutdown is two voting rounds. The first one requires a filibuster-proof majority of 60 votes. The GOP has 53 senators.

The negotiations thus far have basically been:

Republicans: "Vote for our spending bill"
Democrats: "Do we get any say in how the money is spent?"
    Republicans: "No"
Democrats: "Will you promise to actually spend the money the way this, and prior bills, say?"
Republicans: "Also no. We'll do whatever the fuck we want with the money, the law be damned."
Democrats: "We don't think we can vote for this."
Republicans: "Gawwwwd, why are you being so unreasonable?"

Ehh... it's every time this happens regardless of the make up of the chamber. It's an expectation at this point.

Except this is the first time negotiations are happening four days after SCOTUS said if you call open defiance of Article I a "pocket rescission" it is now allowed.

Not sure why you needed to fly in Generals and Admirals from all over the world just to sit in a theatre and hear a rah rah speach from the Secretary of Defense and 40 plus minutes of rambling from a deranged old man. Is there something else that they are not going to put on Media?

For those who didn't see the big pow wow:

    From Hegseth:
    • No fatties
    • No wokies (meaning coloreds, queers, and broads)
    • As many war crimes as you want
    • Some domestic abuse and sexual assault, as a treat
    From Trump:
    • Going to war against "domestic enemies."
    • Stealth is ugly, so we should get rid of it
    • We should build more of an obsolete technology because I saw a museum ship in California and it was cool
    • I may have let slip some classified intel

Part of me wonders if it's not a ploy to get senior staff to bail so they can be replaced with more ex Fox New hosts and TACO yes men.

    What a fucking joke.

And let's be honest... the "no fatties" thing is probably due to the other dictators having better looking parades.

Trump is going on the "Canada should come join us, be the 51st state" shit again.

What a cluster fuck of a military meeting.

This was my thought. Trump grew up post-WWII but pre-Vietnam, so he has memories of a glorious and beloved military. Plastic army men, in the flesh. That’s what he wants.

I can't believe the radical left is now coming for something as sacred as... *checks notes* affordable housing?

So that's a plain-as-day Hatch Act violation for everyone involved.

Trump is reliving his military school experience. He's the type that took all the wrong lessons from a military school experience.

It's the equivalent of the high-school football player that never moves on.
