Maybe he followed the FBI’s “Times Square Bomber” mould by creating the entire thing himself. I wouldn’t put it past him, he’s a lying shit sack.
The huge outpouring of support for this guy(online at least) as if he wasn’t a racist fucking douchebag is crazy to me. He said nothing but awful and divisive things but did it with a McKinsey consultant tone of voice so he didn’t sound like a total moron. No one said shit when those Minnesota politicians were murdered. Not a peep when the PA governor’s home was shot at. They openly made fun of Nancy Pelosi’s husband when they tried to kill him with a hammer. But some little fascist douchebag gets it and suddenly, “it doesn’t matter what your politics are, violence for speaking your mind is never okay”? Without even knowing who did it, right wing pundits are calling for civil war and a complete stomping of anything deemed left wing. It almost feels like they killed him in order to further justify an even more violent and authoritarian presence in the country.
I really do think the answer to your first paragraph, when it comes to news reporting, is simple - “holy shit. If I come out and criticize him, I might also get shot in the neck.” As for the online stuff, Reddit etc - I’ve seen a mix. People decrying his death while not liking him at all, celebrations. It’s the nature of media now that we notice what we don’t like more than what we do. I live in a red state and grew up in a red state, and so I see a lot of support for him, but also messages of “we should be able to debate freely and voice our differences…Charlie was just living God’s supreme law which is higher than anything else and trumps your beliefs.” And I’ve been resisting the urge to reply to those. Also, a local restaurant is being review-bombed because the owner posted on their personal Facebook about how karma can hit you fast, even as she denounces his murder.
Remember when I mentioned his murder might have been be planned? Because I remember! btw has anybody heard about this Elon Musk guy?
The tone has already been set. MSNBC fired Matthew Dowd over this comment. https://time.com/7316346/matthew-dowd-fired-reports-charlie-kirk-commentary-political-violence/
Like I said, complicit worthless fucks. As an aside, https://www.reddit.com/r/NoFilterNe...p_calls_charlie_kirk_a_martyr_blames_radical/ Trump condems shooting and calls Kirk martyr in AI Generated video.
WSJ reporting a “source” says ammo was engraved with “trans/antifascism slogans.” EDIT: wasn’t it in the last couple weeks some lawmaker was offering legislation on a “trans gun ban?”
I saw some left-leaning people who were allowing for it to be some AI editing of takes. But that just brings on the question - why does he need that many takes for a short statement?
C’monnnnnnmn SEVEN!! Daddy needs a dead president. He has injuries on his hands that he got from opening Ho-Ho’s that he can’t even hide on camera anymore. We are watching him decompose and die, live and in colour, as we speak. And when he goes, people are t going to hold back how the feel at all.
Whoever killed him can shoot well from a distance, had the entire area scouted to a perfect vantage point, and had an exit strategy that worked under total chaos and panic. I mean… this person seems like some CIA briefcase-assassin from a Bourne movie—- Far removed from the dork who aimed at Trump. To still be at large under such a microscope these days is scary-impressive, and just plain scary.
My thoughts also Crown Royal. The gun used was a Mauser in 30-06. I am betting the gun is unregistered. This guy with all that was happening was cool enough to keep to his plan. Maybe an experienced hunter could do all this, but I am betting he had some experience beforehand.
It was about 200 yards, right? That’s a good bit of distance for an amateur shooter. But as you said, an experienced hunter could make that shot easily. And for real trained snipers, that’s a pop shot. Utah probably has a lot of real good shooters. I also find it weird that Trump was the one who made the real first official announcement that he died. Was Kirk helping keep the Epstein stuff in focus?
A 30-06 is almost flat at that distance. It’s practically point and shoot with even a shitty scope. I generally sight in mine at 150 yards knowing that crosshairs at 100 or 200 yards is barely an inch off… still very much in the kill zone. As you said, this is a relatively simple shot for even a mediocre hunter.
