I’ve said it on her before: death isn’t always sad. When it came to people like Jerry Falwell or Henry Kissinger, there is absolutely every reason to rejoice in those sacks of anuses taking a permanent dirt nap. Seriously — good fucking riddance, it is GOOD that they are dead..
Am I the only one who thinks that he might not be? Like, sure, the cult of personality around Trump will disappear, which will be good for the future, but you have the exact same people in charge right now. Why is Vance going to be any better?
I think the cult of personality is the most dangerous aspect. It's what enables everything else. The reason a Senator like Bill Cassidy doesn't tank the nomination of a nutcase like RFK Jr is because he fears Trump's cult. The reason Congressmen vote to eliminate medicaid for their own voters is because they fear Trump's ability to push some psycho through a Republican primary. Everything that the right is doing, that requires acting in concert, is only so-enabled because of Trump. Without him, the various evils he has gathered under his skirts will be at each other's throats.
Vance doesn't have the charisma, or cult of personality, etc. Members of the current administration won't stay loyal to him and neither will the MAGA masses.
@Aetius @AFHokie Yeah, I see that. I guess I'm just not very hopeful that this will result in substantive change before the next election cycle.
I spent the last 72 hours punishing my body with alcohol so I've been out of the loop. What's going on with him and why does he look like shit?
It's like a choose-your-own-adventure. You get to pick which of the following answers you like best: Absolutely nothing. He's the picture of health. He got a routine procedure/minor infection and they're keeping him away from cameras until he recovers. He has cancer and is getting chemo. He had a stroke and can't talk. He's already dead.
I like the second to last one best for some reason. He looks like someone who might have CHF. People bloat up very quickly and their skin pales when happens.
I've seen some for-realsies doctors speculate that that's what he has, but this was before his recent disappearance, and it was more in a "this guy looks like a bag of smashed assholes and definitely doesn't have another decade in him" kind of way, and not in a "he'll be dead by Friday" kind of way.
The suddenness, his appearance, his age. Those factors make it very plausible, and that's before you count him loving McDonald's. I'm gonna check-in with the schizos on /r/conspiracy.
Leading theory is D. Also, some footage of black garbage bags being dumped from the WH. https://www.reddit.com/r/TikTokCrin...m_name=androidcss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1
Increasingly, I have grown to view Trump (and Elon) as scapegoats for unpalatable shit, and the actual power behind them as Palantir. I harbor this viewpoint based on the consolidation of data and social media control by Palantir. The more I learn about this company, the more terrifying their reach becomes. All of the Cambridge Analatica stuff wound up there, alongside some of the gnarlier stuff that used to exist at NSA and CISA. I see Trump being burned as useless in the very near future, and the power to influence the next set of elections (or indeed to determine if they happen at all) to rest with this shady ass contractor. What Trump doesn't finish, Vance will and if they need a war declaration to do it, no problem. Even changing the name from dod to war department throws some uncertainty on otherwise very clear delineations of authority. When Trump dies, there will be a party. But increasingly, I see Trumps success as an outcome of powerful entities like Palantir working to put their foot on the scale. The likelihood that the MAGA movements power wanes with his death is not as stringent a guarantee as we might think.
