Trump is planning on taking over the DC police department, installing a particularly cantankerous member of the police union to run it (by which we mean exact his revenge on people in the department he doesn't like), order the FBI to patrol the streets, and deploy the National Guard. The pretense for these actions is crime in DC being "out of control" after hitting a 30 year low in the last year of Biden's term.

We planned to go to DC in two weeks when my daughter goes back to college. I’m no longer certain I want to do that. The sight of the military in and around the city is going to be both depressing and infuriating. And I’ve said it before and I’ll continue to say it to their faces- I’m still waiting for the Second Amendment/gun rights pussies to step up. This administration is EXACTLY what that amendment was created to address. Where are all of the tough guys now?

The last administration to enact any sort of gun control was . . . . Trump 1.0. Before that it was Reagan after the assassination attempt. No mainstream democrat has suggested taking away everyone’s guns , although some have suggested banning certain kinds of guns. You know who else did that? Reagan. The idea that Democrats will take your guns and Republicans will protect them is just as much nonsense as the myth that Democrats spend extravagantly and Republicans don’t.
