I know a lot of people, including immediate family, that are changing their travel plans accordingly. My mom has one bus tour she's doing that is pre-paid and she can't cancel without huge penalty, so she's doing it, but 2 other trips she's had planned have been changed to be not in the US.

Just my immediate family and in-laws have changed over $50k of plans away from the US, and are taking the "buy Canadian" seriously in the stores.

In grocery stores right now, there's a bunch of stuff that is upside down on the shelves... because people are figuring out what is from the US and putting it back, upside down. Canadian options are gone from the shelves, US options just sitting there.

The top 2 apps on the Apple App Store right now are "identify stuff made in Canada" apps.

Flag sales are at 300% over last year already.

I also read today that they are basically killing Medicare. They list it as defunding it by some $880b or something, but in reality, that wipes it out.

People are going to die because of this shit, while Dingus goes golfing.

It's just a bill at the moment and that number is for a 10 year period. It would be around a 10% cut per year if passed.

10% per year for 10 years.... to answer the age old question of "what is the half life of Medicare?"

I really want to take my son back east to see family he hasn’t met yet, but my wife now doesn’t trust flying, and to be honest, neither do I. But driving with a toddler that far seems like a waste of hours and a test of patience I’d most likely fail.

Why do you not trust flying?

Just ignore the Delta flight on its roof that has shut down Pearson when answering that…

My wife is already a high-anxiety flyer, and news of crashes and fires and near-misses makes her not want to get on a plane.
For me, it’s any news of Musk being anywhere near the FAA.

There’s been a lot of plane mishaps since you-know-who took over. My wife actually brought that up to me today.

Much more likely the money comes out of Medicaid. Medicaid is for poor people, who Republicans hate; Medicare is for old people, whose votes Republicans need.

Four of his top yes-men have resigned. Even if he’s gone, that city is hopeless. So what if NYC is “free” of him, those fucking people cannot stop electing trash as their mayor— it’s as if it hardwired into their DNA to vote like retards.

    Or politely hate snow?

At what point can we justifiably request asylum?

Ask again in about 6 months. We’re building a wall and firing up the BlackHawks.
