I've experienced both ends of the spectrum. I stayed to the end of a humid July afternoon/evening game here in DC when the Nats & Pirates played almost six hours in 18 innings. We should have left earlier, my wife ended up puking from the heat. At least the Pirates won 2-1. Meanwhile, a year earlier, the wildest & most exciting baseball game I've ever experienced, the Pirates beat the Cardinals in the 14th inning after they were down 3-0 in the 5th. This was the first baseball game my wife ever went to, I kept telling her during the game, they are not normally this exciting. Video highlights of the game:
Pittsburgh is the American city I want to see an MLB game in the most, by far. They did everything perfect with that ballpark. And you might run into Michael Keaton while there.
Pittsburgh has a beautiful baseball park for sure. I think the same can be said of Oracle Park in San Francisco. It is a nice park that was built with some real space limitations that have worked to its advantage. A bonus is San Francisco for all that is written negative by the right wing is a beautiful city with many vacation options. Just do not drive or try and park in the city.
Go if you can. I went with a friend a few years back and it is a great ballpark. We had a hell of a good time in the bars in the area as well.
PNC park is the only stadium I've been to where I'm certain there are zero shitty seats. I've sat in just about every area and no matter where, you have a fantastic view of the field. I recommend parking over at Station Square, then taking one of the Gateway Clipper boats to the stadium. It helps avoid game traffic and the view is fantastic, especially at night.
Game 7. Scherzer v. Ohtani on the mound. I’ve never seen a fever pitch like this for a game since the gold medal hockey game from 2010. People are already happy, they won the pennant and brought a championship to Toronto again. That’s what the Jays give Toronto sports fans that the Leafs never can— they get to feel real victory and glory.
That was an amazing series. I feel worse than I thought I would about the Dodgers winning. Some incredible individual performances by their players but I really wanted Toronto to win. Damn
