Mookie saying it’s like being on a team with Michael Jordan…and me, a Sox fan, just cursing John Henry to the deepest pits of hell.
There was no way he was ever coming to the east coast, so don’t get too wrapped around the axel. LA practically has a lock on Japanese players now, unless the Red Sox, Yankees or Mets make overwhelming offers. And even then probably not.
All the marbles tonight. Either my boys win the pennant for the first time in 32 years, or a new team FINALLY does. This is one of those times where I’d be fine with a loss, because the Mariners and their fans need one— but I still much rather would have the Jays win. It’s been a great series, and a LOT of Canadians will be watching tonight. it certainly does suck for people like me when your team does well and you have wake up at Ass O’Clock on weekday mornings.
I don’t hate any team this year. The Dodgers are nice players and I’d say they’re a few years away from being an annoying dynasty. But I’ll root for whoever the AL winner is.
No shit. What a heart attack. Springer really did it when he had to, his first hit since taking that laser of his kneecap. I genuinely feel bad for Mariner fans, I hope it happens for them soon. I would have cheered for them in the WS if they won this game.
I didn’t get to watch the whole thing, but was checking in, and got to the TV for the last out. I was really pulling for the Mariners, but the Jays have power. Hopefully they can take down the Dodgers. I also have an irrational dislike of John Schneider. I don’t know why. I don’t know enough about him, really. He just looks like all the red-faced alcoholic customers I had at the music store.
I was able to catch the good inning, at least. Loved all the talk about Barger needing to avoid a double play so Vlad could come up…I suppose that’s one way to do it.
They really shouldn’t have put the bullpens so close to the fans when they renovated the dome. Jesus Christ LOL….
There were a few bad calls around. I went to bed after the first nine innings. Ten million people went to earth with black eyes this morning.
I tried to watch it to the end, and mostly did with periods of dozing. I’m beat today- but what a game. And Ohtani is simply incredible. Probably the best player I’ve ever seen.
He should have been put on base right before his second home run. The Blue Jays had the lead, bases were empty and Ohtani had a home run and two doubles in his prior three at bats. Plus he had shown that he had a hot bat prior to this game. In my opinion that was some bad managing.
I agree wholeheartedly. Even with as good as Scherzer has been pitching in the post season they should have sent him to first a LOT more than once.
Well, it’s coming back to Toronto. My sister-in-law has tickets for game seven of it goes to that— she’s already planning to scalp them, I told her I would lock arms if I had to in order to prevent that from happening. This is one of those things where I refuse to let even the law apply to the situation.
Its known that I'm not a huge baseball fan, but how long is too long of a game? I can't imagine sitting for seven hours watching a baseball.game. Other than sleep, I can't think of anything that I want to do for seven hours.
