    Rant: Yeah I'm moving too.

Rave: The new place is great!

Rave: Spent the past two days on the production floor at the new job and will meet with the marketing department tomorrow. The president of the company yelled "Fuck Wisconsin!" across the office yesterday when he saw the U of M shirt I was wearing. So good so far.

Equal parts Rant/Rave: I was offered a full-time job on the spot at an interview today. The rave part is pretty obvious - it's a huge ego boost, and I'm glad that I at least have options. However, even though I'm not entirely sure what the job entails, from what I can tell it's on the periphery of three things I'm interested in but not quite the entry level job I was aiming for. I'm not complaining about the entry-levelness of the job, but that I'm not even sure it would count as related experience that would help me get a job in one of those industries in the future (just like the main gig I have now). Also, while it's 45 hours instead of working halftime, it comes with a significant per hour pay decrease. I don't think I'd have to stress about money anymore (or, at least, have to stress a lot less), but it kind of sucks thinking about doing over twice as much work for not that much more money per week. However, I believe I am currently overpaid for my main job (please don't tell my bosses) and for what I want to do it seems pretty unlikely that I'll be able to find a full-time job at my level that works out to the same hourly wage or more. BUT I'll have big kid things like health insurance through my job and paid time off and such. BUT it seems like they have really weird schedules. BUT this is the first offer I've gotten for a full-time position in a year and a half of looking for one so I keep feeling like I should just take my luck where I can get it. BUT I don't want to make the mistake of just jumping at the shiny label of "full time job" and finding out in a month that I won't be happy with settling and it's not going to do much for me in the long run besides an extra $100 a week. Training starts on Monday, so I'm going to see how I feel about it and if it's worth it or not at the end of the week.

Moral of the story Rant: I HATE DECISION MAKING.

Rave: Friday! Hosting a berserk drinking night tonight, nothing but serious drinkers and chaos. These are the supplies I have laid in for the weekend. Aww yeah.

Rave: First doctor appointment with the wife went well today. Saw the heartbeat on an ultrasound, although a more comprehensive ultrasound is planned for a few days from now.

Rave: Got to tell both of our parents about it today. We'd agreed to wait until the first appointment to tell our parents, and another month before we tell everyone else.

Rant: I have the distinct feeling my mother-in-law is not willing or able to wait another month before telling everyone.

Rave: That was one of the best hours of television I've seen in awhile. For those that missed the hour long episode of Louie tonight, you should try to catch the replay later on FX. It's about his USO trip to Iraq/Afghanistan. Funny, poignant, serious, sad, prescient...everything.

If you want to read the back story on it, check out his blog of the actual trip from a couple years ago. It's six or seven posts long I think, but it's full of pictures and his perspective on the whole thing. Maybe I'm just a fan boy, but as someone who's an aspiring comedy writer and has lost his best friend and brother in Afghanistan, this was pretty much a perfect storm of emotion and catharsis and just...

    ...just watch it.

FUCKING COCKSUCKING BULLSHIT: Something is in my eye. I dont know what, but it's driving me nuts and my eye is watering up like a mother fucker. I've been pulling the eyelid up and down to try and shake whatever is in there out but its not working.

Rant: Things aren't going good with my appendix incision. It partially split open, and I figured it would sort of heal on it's own, but it hasn't. So I went to the doctor today because this yellow ball of puss developed right in the middle of the cut. He said its infected, and when he went to clean it out he said there was a crator about the size of a q-tip head in my cut. Now he's got me on antibiotics and a cream to fight the infection.

RAVE: My girlfriend told me I was the best thing to ever happen to her and her daughter today.

Rave: In about 12 hours, I'll be in Boone, NC for my buddy's bachelor party. I'll be surrounded for the weekend by liberal amounts of beer, weed, and hot southern girls.

Rave, part dos: Irene can suck my dick. I'll be wayyyyy up in the mountains, far from her slutty grasp. BOO-yah!

I had an unbelievable bitch of a day at work yesterday. I was exhausted and fell asleep at 7:30, and now, at 3:30 AM I am wide fucking awake because I have already had my usual 24 hour sleep allotment.

Leading to another long, exhausting day, falling asleep early, and another sleepless night, wash, rinse, repeat.

Rant: Despite the impending storm my dumbass girlfriend refuses to cancel plans for her friends to come down to see the farm, which is really only fun when the weather is good. So basically we'll be stuck in our tiny apartment all day with the potential of them having to stay here for two days... great.

RANT: Irene forced my boss to leave the shore and come home early. Here's hoping he stays out of the office today.

RAVE: I get to leave work early today! But it's only because...

RANT: My childhood home got sold so I will spend tonight and tomorrow moving my mom out of the house into her new apartment. The apartment that is, at least, four times smaller than our house. So where is all the extra stuff going? To my grandma's garage. So I will be moving stuff into a garage and an apartment. The real kicker is that half the stuff we're moving could be thrown out or given away but my mom didn't want to take the time to sort through it, so we're stuck moving shit that doesn't need to be moved. Ugh.

RANT: On top of being annoyed at the inefficiency of this move, it will be emotionally draining. It's my childhood home. If I have children, where am I bringing them to visit their grandparents? In their respective apartments, that's where. My parents getting divorced and my house being sold were definitely not the way I saw my adult life panning out.

Oh, and we also have Irene to deal with. That bitch is going to make this weekend all the more fun.

RAVE: I don't have to spend the ENTIRE weekend helping move because my best friend's birthday is tomorrow and the boy and I are going into the city to celebrate. Who's gettin' crunked on Saturday??? This chick. Right here.

Rave: Signed up for savored today thanks to an invite from my sister. $10 per reservation at some of the better restaurants in DC, and automatic 30% off the bill, including booze. Don't know if you need an invite to get hooked up or if you can just do it off the site, but I'll throw invites out there if anyone wants.

Rave: Also finally got set up with Spotify, too. Only just getting into it, but its pretty awesome so far.

So I took today off so I could finish preparing for the move spoken about a couple of days ago.

I found a can of snuff and four smokes under my bed. It then occurred to me-

I haven't had a cigarette in 12 days or any nicotine! This is the longest I've gone since I bet someone bet me a cool grande that I couldn't quit. I'm hoping this time I actually stick to it. My body can't take another bout with nicotine detox. It hurt. I wrote a lot of it down. I hope next time I think about picking one up I read that and remember how horrible those first three days were.

Rant: Bank of America is the fucking WORST. There was that thread a little bit ago about excellent customer service? Well, I have never experienced more consistent terrible/useless customer service in any other company I have ever dealt with. Everyone that works there is either completely incompetent or an asshole. Fuck them.

RAVE: Just got a call from a friend in the video game industry I haven't heard from in a year or so. He just landed major financing for a new video game publishing venture. High 8-Figures kind of financing. He's also signed 3 publishing deals for titles everyone has heard of. He wants me in on the ground floor to lead the tech teams. Best part? The cash hit his bank account on Tuesday, so it's official.

RANT-ish: The part that kind of sucks is that I'd have to move to Montreal within a year or so. Not the end of the world, by any stretch, but still not on my "gee, can't wait" list.

RAVE: The potential for this gig is huge.

Rave: As much as you want to hate on Jersey Shore, you get fantastic quotes like this.

"This the telephone. This is what happens when you take steroids (pointing at Ronnie)."

    I lost it laughing.
