Not shocking, but it's sad that some people actually believe the other things.

I read somewhere that orgasms help your sinuses (for both males and females).

Makes sense, so that's my go-to "headache" rebuttal.

Addendum since I can no longer edit it:

Yes, they do appear to cure headaches, and in my experience, they take the edge off hangovers as well.

I've had the opposite effect with hangovers. Faster heart rate raises blood pressure, which can make headaches a lot worse.

Funny story, I'll try to make this short because it's not on focus:

When I was sent home from the hospital after my brain tumor surgery -- despite having doctor's orders on everything from what I can and can't eat, to how much physical activity each day, to not drinking for a LONG time, to precautions about everything under the sun -- I was never given specific instructions about how jacking off (or sex, but I was young, dorky, and an obvious virgin) might impact my body.

I knew it raised my blood pressure, and given that I was hydrocephalic to the point of it almost killing me (even after I was released), I figured it'd be a bad idea to try. Also, I had the unfortunate experience of having a catheter, which happened to leave what my nurse described as "several tiny 'razor' marks on the inside of [my] penis" and caused my dick to burn when I went piss. But I had just turned 19, had incredible amounts of awesome porn on my computer, and even though I faced the possibility of dying on an hourly basis, I was still fucking horny as all hell. Quite the predicament.

About two weeks after my brain surgery, I couldn't take it any more. I heard that semen builds up naturally (not sure if this is right or not), and long story short my horniness was unbearable. I didn't have boners, mind you (any increase in heart rate made me dizzy as fuck and gave me a migraine I won't even begin to describe; thusly, boners hurt), but I was ready to go. So I went in the shower, started "working" it, and immediately knew it was a bad idea. I could tell that because I was already getting lightheaded. But I was a sport and powered through with raw determination bread from half a month of being essentially on bed rest. I'll spare you the description, but suffice to say there was an insanely loud scream and brought on by the second-worst pain I have ever felt, at that time or since. Turns out, those "cuts" were not all the way healed; it felt like nails were being driven slowly into my cock. The resulting spike in blood pressure, from the deed, and then my reaction to the pain my deed produced, produced the absolute worst pain I have ever felt.

Lesson to be learned: don't jack off after brain surgery, unless you run it by a doctor first.... trust me on this.

Sounds like 'no' is to condoms. I always think of the stories I'd hear about chicks sucking and fucking to get out of watch detail, when I hear something like 1-3 females are raped in the military. Doesn't mean it's not true, and I've never served. My opinion on this is based on having lived in an army, air force and marine/navy town at some point in my life.

You didn't get the story quite right. That's the percentage of women in the VA hospital who say they were raped, not the percentage of women in the military in general. Obviously people in hospitals are more likely to have been attacked than people not in hospitals.

Given that soldiers can get in a lot of trouble for sleeping with each other (at least while deployed in a combat area), any woman who goes in to the hospital for a pregnancy test or STD test has a strong incentive to claim she was raped, especially if she doesn't have to name an attacker or otherwise follow up on the claim.

Bullshit. I had a lot of "consentual - under the influence" secks with the girl I dated for 7 years. If that makes me a rapist, then it also makes me a rape victim.

Fixed that for you. Note-- The link is to encyclopedia dramatica, a website that's kinda-sorta (depending on what you click) NSFW. But for my money, the entries on "basement dwellers" and "asperger's syndrome" are some of the funniest things on the web. Maybe that just shows you what a cretin I am.

Focus: The "average" credit card balance (as of a couple years ago) is $8,000 per household. That means that for every household with a grand or two balance, someone else has a $14,000 or $15,000 balance.

Of course, going back to statistics, the median (meaning the halfway point for all these people) is $1,900. But think about that-- $8,000 per household. If you have a zero balance, someone else has $16,000.

Even worse thought, if you have a younger sibling it means they've boned twice minimum and once while you were possibly at home.

Worst thought? If you weren't a C-section you've touched your moms vajayjay.

10% of attorneys are over the age of 65. 12.8% of the population at large is in the same age group.

It's one of the most stressful, demanding and unfulfilling careers, people that age could easily have banked some serious fuck-you money, and yet they just can't get away. I suspect it's because they've given up any sense of identity outside of their careers.

    Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Stats

Since returning from my little vacation into the world of alcohol/drug rehabilitation, I was sort of shocked (not really) by the success rates of the 12 step programs that are published. I haven't even heard of a rehab center that does not focus on the 12 steps (except that stupid late night infomercial book....which is shit by the way. I ordered it.) and the statistics are terrifying if you are really concerned with your sobriety and recovery.

Therefore, when I was a patient I started noticing the demographics of the other patients and the treatment we received. I came up with some strange observations. When I discussed them with my friends and professors they found them odd as well.

Drug Rehab Programs Using 12 Step
Number 2 Success Rate: 10 to 25 percent

Drug Rehab Programs using a Long Term Religious method.
    Number 3 Success Rate: 10 - 20 percent

Drug Rehab Programs using Behavioral Modification.
Number 4 Success Rate: 10 percent

Drug Rehab Programs using Bio-Physical method.
Number 1 Success Rate: 70 percent

The above stat is the one that I found odd. I can see why this would work for drug addicts who have a physical dependency (think detoxing as in Trainspotting movie), but I don't think simply physically detoxing has a high success rate. I could go a week or more without drinking and not suffer any effects. Alcohol would be out of my physical system, but I would still have the mind of a drunk with mental cravings and anticipate my next binge. Alcoholism and drug addiction are not simply physical dependencies. They are definitely thinking diseases, therefore disproving the bio-physical rehab statistic.

    http://www.addiction-rehab-success.com/

Even more disturbing are the various studies saying AA, NA, and the 12 Steps have a 0% recovery rate and it is merely a mind over matter decision to use or not.

    http://www.orange-papers.org/orange-effectiveness.html

So based on that information, I decided to observe and come up with my own statistics since I was being armed with bleak stats.

The treatment facility I was in, said "look to your left, look to your right, and then look at yourself. Only one of the three of you are going to make it." Real encouraging, huh? I've been sober for 100 days and the person that was on my right has 105 days clean and the person on my left has 185 days clean. (The girl on my right was my age, and alcoholic and compulsive gambler. The guy on my left was a heroin addict, age 24, and minor league ball player.)

While I was a patient in the said facility, out of the 85 of us that were there, only a handful were alcoholics. Out of six who identified themselves as "only alcoholics", only two of those were men. The majority of the rest of the patients were opiate addicts under the age of 30.

Also, instead of asking each other "Where are you from?" it became customary to say "Where in Jersey are you from?" Almost everyone there was from the New Jersey area, an opiate addict, and under the age of 30. (This facility is in Florida)

I was the only patient from Tennessee. I met four other people who were not from the Northeast. They were from Texas, Montana, New Mexico, and Mississippi. Oddly enough, they identified themselves as only alcoholics and not addicts.

Also I would like to make clear that this was not a facility that catered to the "rich and famous". (Hell, I was there so that should tell you something. No Britney's or Lindsay Lohans there.)

However, of the 85 patients, only five were minorities. The rest were so-called normal white suburban "kids" (I call them kids because they were under thirty) who were heroin/opiate addicts or members of the A-Team. (The A-Team is what I affectionately called us drunks)

So my point is, depending on the statistic, the study, the doctor... everyone is going to come up with a different number and they don't really mean shit. So basically I am screwed whether I drink or not according to the statistic I am looking at that particular day.

Oh well, they have really good coffee at AA meetings.

(Apologies if this comes off as preachy as this is NOT my intention)
