Fuck that. They should have made:
    Ronan: The Runner.

Sure, it would have been a SyFy Stargate Atlantis movie, but it would have been way more awesome than the crap we are sure to see.

I just made the most delicious fucking crepe ever.

Imagine the flavors of melted butter, sugar, chocolate vodka, vanilla, mandarin juice, and mandarin zest drizzled over the crepe. Damn that was tasty.

Is there any movie remake the justifies remakes existing? The best I can think of is The Nutty Professor, but honestly, I'm willing to live in a world where that movie was never made just to have the rest of remakes destroyed.

There are a good amount that are far better than the original, not many though. The best ones are The Thing and Scarface.

Peter Jackson's King Kong was one of the best things I've ever seen. Fantastic story telling. Plus Andy Serkis is one of the best actors ever even when he's a CGI gorilla. Started to get a little dusty at the end. Coppola's Dracula too. Still kept some of the original cheese. Oldman > Legosi's vampire. People give that flick shit because of Keanu "Whoa" Reeves. He wasn't even THAT bad. Not good, just not, well, THAT bad. I didn't expect George Carlin to pop up in a phone booth at least.

Also, Man on Fire. The original with Scott Glenn and Joe Pesci wasn't bad. But I'd rather watch Denzel Washington methodically play out this gruesome, kinetic, Shakespearian revenge with Christopher Walken chewing up the scenes he's in. Fucking awesome.

Scarface is a remake of a 1932 film.

How about the 1986 version of Little Shop of Horrors, a remake of the 1960 version.

Ocean's Eleven was better than the Rat Pack version (of course, that is my opinion).

Cape Fear is a remake of the 1962 film Cape Fear.

Sure, if there's a valid artistic reason to remake it, eg. special effects technology allowing a new take on the story (The Thing, The Fly), or just the director taking on the basic story in a different way/setting (Scarface, Bad Lieutenant). Or The Quiet American, whose first adaptation was a kind of 'neutered' version of the original story, which was critical of US foreign policy and that didn't fly in 1958 (I highly recommend the new version by the way, my favorite movie of the last decade).

The best known versions of The Maltese Falcon and Ben-Hur are also remakes.

I do understand how you feel about remakes, the overwhelming majority of them are made for the sole purpose of money while giving the audience bullshit in return.

Forgot about the original Ocean's Eleven, man did that movie ever suck donkey dick. Here's the plan for our heist: We get the key to the electrical control room, short out the lights and the cages, and then take the money... And we do this...

FIVE TIMES THE EXACT SAME WAY!

New version is definitely better, but I'd probably sacrifice Clooney's Ocean's Eleven to destroy The Day The Earth Stood Still and Planet of the Apes.

    Eee-oh, eee-oh eleven.

The oceans series are my guilty pleasure. Especially the second one, I have no idea what it is about that movie but I fucking love it. Probably watched it at least a dozen times now.

I have trouble watching movies that involve laser grids, especially the moving grid in Ocean's 12. Put all your damn lasers on the same plane with no more than a square inch gap. Christ, people are retarded. There's a reason why fences work, but random wires across your yard do not.

Cool story, bro. Hope you enjoy every other movie, in the history of mankind, that has some sort of illogical entertainment in it.
