A wonderful addition to a shitty season ending in Boston. Fuck that grundle.

pro tip: if your sentence begins with “I don’t know if he wants me to share this, but…” then stop fucking talking.

All the best to Wake, he’s one of my favorites from the 2004 team. Seeing him pitch live was like a willful anxiety attack.

Schilling literally retweeted open "Jewish Question" nazi propaganda this week, and somehow it's not the giant piece of shit thing he did everyone is talking about.

I'm pretty excited about the MLB playoffs starting today. Not just because I am hoping for the Braves to dominate and win it all, but I think there's a little extra excitement this year. Neither NY team, Boston, nor St Louis are in the playoffs for the first time in like 30+ years. But, the first round should be decent TV. Attendance and TV viewership was up this year across all of MLB. Several of the wildcard teams are fiery and have taken advantage of the new rules with more SB and runs scored. There are several fun rookies that are on the playoff teams. ABC, actual network ABC, is carrying some of the games through ESPN's contract, the playoff games should be shorter in the new rule format and help viewership.

On a side note, since the Braves have a bye in the first round . . . if you're in the ATL area, and you want to sit in the good seats at the Braves park to watch some workouts and simulated games, for free, over the next three days, click here: https://www.mlb.com/braves/tickets/postseason

    Let's go, baseball!

The terminally online either get really into racist/QAnon conspiracy theories or deep into identity politics. There is no middle.

The AL East goes out with a whimper in the WC round. All 17 Rays fans are disappointed, I’m sure.

I’m rooting for the Orioles this year, since my best friend is a fan.

Brewers folded like a wounded dove, too, for the NL Central. And that was after having a lead in both games.

Braves sucked it up tonight. Dodgers are sucking even harder. Baseball is weird.

Sounds like baseball has been added to the 2028 Olympics. That should be interesting.

    And maybe flag football?

Braves Phillies ending was incredible. Wow.

Where are all the LA fans? That stadium is 2/3 full.

Those last 2 1/2 innings could really be a catalyst for the rest of this series. Philly had them all but ready to hit the links.

I guess they were on LA time or fighting LA traffic, because it seems to have filled in now.

I've been to 17 MLB parks, and LA was the absolute worst to get out of, traffic-wise.

Have you been to Yankee Stadium? I’ve been to a few more, 20 or so, and Yankee Stadium is by far the worst. Although when I went to Dodger Stadium it was on the 4th of July, and traffic was relatively light in general that week.

I went to Yankee stadium a few years ago before they'd built the new one. It was September in the last home series against the Red Sox. That stadium was a total dump at that time. But, I didn't drive - I was staying in the City and just walked / subwayed.

The Oakland Coliseum is the exact opposite, it is served by a major freeway with two direct exits into the stadium, A subway line with a direct stop at the stadium, lastly a commuter train that would run special Sunday Oakland Raider trains out into the valley. Yet, despite arguably being the most convenient sports facility in America, the critics and ownership just beat it down. Yes I am bitter.

Since my team is out of it, my rooting priorities are as follows:

    Any team that hasn’t won a World Series (currently the Rangers}

    Not the Astros

    The Phillies

It’s quit remarkable how the Braves can be overrated for 30 some odd years.
